Good online bookstore, books & album.

Recently after seeing the balloon boy incident being repeatedly discussed on the comedy channel (a channel on Foxtel, An Australian cable tv service) I began to look up the incident in more detail on wikipedia.
Not long after starting on the initial article of balloon boy I began to wander off through the links, as you do when your on Wikipedia.

I ended up on The Betty & Barney Hill abduction article and after reading into that event some more I was highly intrigued (especially about the star map coincidence, and use of hypnosis from a highly reputable source) and concluded I should seek out the book “The Interrupted Journey” by John G. Fuller to find out as much as possible about this (potential) historically significant event.

After browsing google for a while a wound up on AbeBooks.com
I managed to pick up The Interrupted Journey for $6 or $7 AUD, this site immediately proved a good find. (after verifying it wasn’t a scam)
Not long later I realized there are a large amount of things I’ve looked up on wikipedia and other websites that would likely have books produced about them.
I spent the next 45 minutes or so compiling a list of 30 or so books to get, also using wikipedia as a source to locate books.
I then purchased “No one here gets out alive”, The biography of Jim Morrison (lead singer of psychedelic rock band The Doors) for about the same price as The Interrupted Journey & paid around $15 for express shipping for both books.
Surprisingly enough after receiving an email invoice informing me the expected arrival date was on the upcoming Tuesday (this was last friday night) it arrived on the Monday along with some graded school work, I was very pleased.

I managed to finish the book in 2 nights & was once again highly intrigued by the facts unearthed in the book. I was also particularly impressed with the author including all the logs of the Hills hypnosis sessions in verbatim. (exactly as they occurred on audio tape)
I also found it highly interesting that when looking face to face with one of the aliens standing aboard the UFO via binoculars one of the hill’s felt “dissociated” (a very uncommon term for the time), and under high doses of dissociative drugs such as dextromethorphan users commonly report alien themed experiences.
I’ve spent the last few days reading the Jim Morrison’s Biography (as well as other things, like creating this new website on ph1012.com & making Alien Invasion) but I’m aiming to not rush through it as fast as The Interrupted Journey, so I can use it as a source of entertainment for longer.
I look forward to slowly procuring all the books on my to-get list. (when I have adequate funds, at least they’re cheap :D )

As well as seeing Balloon Boy being discussed on the comedy channel I also saw a band from Australia (where I live) Wolfmother plugging their new album Cosmic Egg & proceeded to acquire it through means of my own.
The album does have a notably different sound from the previous, probably due to the different in line-up. Overall it does a good job of making the neo-psychedelia genre’s sound audible and providing fans of wolfmother with another musical gem to add to their collection.

Before I conclude this post I’d also like to express my dismay upon seeing Rockstar Game’s twitter account shamelessly self promote it’s new expansion, even though it’s one of the most popular game franchises of all time – to the point where I even wrote my own short article about it’s awesome for a media studies class )
As you probably gathered, I also did that to include the cliche say something & link to it blog thing.
